Vicodin (gikodan, Lortab, hydrocodone, tussioneks) – effective narcotic analgesic and antibechic medicine containing hydrocodone and paracetamol (acetaminophen). Presence in the drug paracetamol enhances the analgesic effect of hydrocodone, but limits the maximum daily dose based on the probability of accumulation of toxic concentrations of paracetamol. At risk of addiction is comparable to codeine. The long reception in large doses can cause a slight euphoria, and in the future – addicted. In case of overdose headache, dry mouth, general weakness, begins to pull in a dream. Develop the same symptoms as poisoning with codeine.
Vicodin is a strong painkiller and cough medicine that is taken orally. The therapeutic dose of 5-10 milligrams of pharmacologically equivalent to 60 milligrams of morphine, which is used inside.
Side effects of Vicodin include an allergic reaction, seizures, clammy skin, increased weakness, dizziness, hyperventilation, fainting, yellowing eyes or skin, unusual fatigue, bleeding, bruising, constipation, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, muscle cramps, sweating, flushing, itching, ringing in the ears, hearing loss, reduced urination, and reduced sexual desire.
